For Mainland UK
As many of the items we sell are heavy and require special shipping arrangements, calculation of the shipping rate can be a complex process. This is a guide that hopefully explains how shipping is calculated for different item types.
For items in the Solar Thermal Parts section and some other smaller items throughout the shop, we ship all items ordered in standard cardboard shipping boxes. These ship at the standard rate of £14 per box. We can put multiple parts into a box, and the shipping calculation assumes up to 10 of the smallest parts per box, so if you order contains more than 10 smaller items (or contains items that are considered by the calculation to take more space than normal) you may find you are charged for multiple boxes (a discount can sometimes apply in this case though).
Solar PV Inverters come in a heavier box, which ships at twice the standard rate (£28) but some small parts can also be included into the larger box, so if you mix an Inverter with some smaller items you likely won't see an increase in the shipping cost from £28.
Cylinders are quite a lot heavier and incur a standard shipping cost of £45 each.
The Panels in the Solar Thermal Kits are large, delicate and require special shipping. This comes to the cost of £120 for each kit.
Solar PV Panels are shipped on pallets. A pallet of solar PV panels costs £75 to ship and a single pallet can include up to 30 individual panels, before another pallet is required. To allow for this calculation to be performed you must add the 'Pallet Delivery' Item into your order, this contains the shipping cost (so you will find that your standard shipping cost will be £0 if you are just ordering solar panels)
Solar PV Kits include a pallet of solar panels, at least one Inverter and many parts and components. We have decided to simplify shipping costs by charging a standard £120 for the shipping of any of the kits.
For Remote Areas:
For shipping purposes 'Remote areas' include the following:
- Scottish Highland Areas
- Western Isles, Orkney and Shetland Islands
- Northern Ireland
- Isle of Man
- Channel Islands
Only lighter items (such as Solar Thermal Parts and PV Inverters) are shipped to remoter areas from the website, these are shipped at the standard rate of £24 per box (a box can contain multiple items (usually up to 10)).
Cylinders and Solar Panels are more difficult to ship to remoter areas outside the mainland, please phone us on 0117 941 1663 and we can give you a customized quote and arrange your order over the phone rather than on the website.
Non-UK:
